Aug 2006:

National Day: Aug 9th will see Singapore celebrate its 41st birthday. The national day parade will be held at the national stadium on Aug 9th 2006 from 5pm to 8:30pm. Besides the parade, there will also be an array of entertainment organized for onlookers on different days spearheaded by the spectacular Fireworks display held on different days. Schedule as follows:

• Tue, 8 Aug 2006: Team SINGAPORE by Mr. Hery NG of Spectaworks Pte Ltd.
• Fri, 11 Aug 2006: Team NEW CALEDONIA by Mr. Charles GERMAIN of Inter-Dis SARL.
• Sat, 12 Aug 2006: A Complimentary Musically Choreographed Fireworks Display by the French Team of Singapore Fireworks Festival 2004.

WOMAD:Aug 25th to Aug 27th 2006 at Fort Canning Park. Womad is a weekend festival extravaganza where music acts from around the world gather to captivate audiences with sounds from around the planet. Audiences will also have a chance to participate in master classes by the musicians. Other than fabulous world music, WOMAN also features a global village which offers international cuisine and flavours, exotic crafts and exquisite merchandise

Singapore Open - Golf: Venue: Singapore Island Country Club, Bukit Course (Bukit Location) Date: 22 - 25 August 2006. Watch some of the worlds top Golfers slug it out for the top prize of USD 2 Million. The event will be here for the 2nd time after its return in 2005.

Sep 2006:

Singapore Biennale 2006: Vernissage (press previews) 1 - 3 Sep, Exhibition dates Sep 4th to Nov 12th.. Singapore Biennale heralds the beginning of a major visual art extravaganza and promises to be an exciting and unique experience for all visitors. This multi-venue, multi-disciplinary art event will present contemporary visual art like you've never seen before!

June 2006:

1) Singapore Arts Festival June 1st to 25th 2006: Established as one of Asia's leading Art festivals, those with an artistic bent may look forward to performances from the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, world renowned guitarist John Williams with Richard Harvey and the critically acclaimed Netherlands Dance Theatre.

2) Cartier-SPC International Polo Tournament June 6th to 11th 2006: The Cartier-SPC International Invitational Polo tournament returns to Singapore once again in 2006. This premier event of Regional Polo will see invited international Polo teams comprising Royalty as well several well known professional players, vie for Cartier's Le Maillet d'Or trophy.
